Hi there, So I'm doing a run, it's an embarrassingly easy prospect in comparison to what the Father in Law has been battling with over the last 10 months. Acute myeloid Leukaemia (AML) is a bastard of a thing, and it's only been a combination of the strength of the man, an amazingly supportive group of strong women around him, and the team at St. Vincent’s that have allowed him not only last Christmas at home, but an amazing 10 months with family and friends. Unfortunately the disease was too aggressive and Colin lost the battle on the 26th June 2019. This has given more importance to this little fundraising campaign of mine and is pushing me to go harder. I will be wearing his name on my bib in an effort to channel his fight in to those last few km’s of the run. The run really is insignificant, this is just a conduit to allow me to get you to donate! So open your wallet, chuck some dosh at the Leukaemia foundation, help them do some further research and provide care to people in what is a really bloody trying time. My initial fundraising target was $500 but thanks to some extremely generous people that’s been smashed, upped it to $2,500 only to see that tumble too, so....lets aim higher! Make it a Pineapple rather than a lobster so we can get to the increased goal quicker, or if you're throwing around Avocados even better. Thank you. Your support is amazing! George.
