My name is Liam Finegan and for those of you who know me would know I'm not one for sob stories or sharing personal details, however to open the purse strings I must pull on the heartstrings! In May of 2018 my mum was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND also known as ALS). MND is a terminal illness of which there is no known cause or cure and not much treatment. The average life expectancy from diagnosis is around 2 years with a lack of quality in much of those as well. In Australia around 2000 people are currently diagnosed with MND. My mum had a short but fierce battle with the disease, losing her life to it after just 3 months on the 14th of September 2018. This year on the 15th of September I’ll be running my first ever marathon in an attempt to raise funds and awareness for the fight against MND. Last year I completed a half-marathon so I figure doubling this should be easy enough…… All funds raised go to the best and brightest researchers to find an effective treatment and ultimately a cure for MND. FightMND commit to .92 cents in every dollar donated going directly to the cause. Thank you very much for your support and generosity, it means a lot to myself and my family.
